A NEW MILESTONE IN UNDERWATER EXPLOSIVES!

HI-TEST Labs has successfully completed the first series of UNDEX test utilizing its new Intermediate Floating Shock Platform (IFSP). This platform has been approved by the Navy for shock certification of mission critical navy equipment and systems with weights from 60K to 250K pounds in accordance with MIL-S-901D Navy. In addition, this facility is approved for its inclusion into the Navy's family of certified shot test vehicles. (Bototm right photo: first shot)

The first item to be subjected to High Impact Shock Qualification Testing was done for Fairbanks Morse Corporation on a Colt-Pielstick 12PA6B 4000 Kw Diesel Engine Generator Set of the type designated for installation aboard the Navy's LHD-8 Class Amphibious Ships. The tests were successfully concluded the week of 9/27/04 at HI-TEST Laboratories, Arvonia, Virginia. (Bottom left photo: first equipment to be tested)
