The Engineering Department at HI-TEST has extensive experience in the environmental testing industry.  HI-TEST's professional engineers are experienced in Finite Element Analysis, transient loading and non-linear analysis. The team frequently designs test fixtures, writes test plans and procedures, reviews ship survivability designs & equipment, and performs model simulations.

INSTRUMENTATION

Data, data, data...if you need data, HI-TEST can provide it.  We provide installation, acquisition, and reduction of a variety of measurements, including:  acceleration, velocity, strain, deflection, pressure, and voltage...to name a few.  

In addition to the installation of gages, the Instrumentation Department installs necessary auxiliary services for electrical hook-ups from single phase commercial power to 440 VAC 3 phase 2000 amps, 120VAC 3 phase delta, and also 120/208 2 phase wye.

Our data acquisition inventory includes:

• Over 150 channels of high-speed digital recording
• Underwater and remote video coverage
• Reports and data provided in digital & CD-ROM format
• High-speed motion analysis

FABRICATION

HI-TEST LABORATORIES, INC. routinely provides fabrication services in support of test projects.  Our full-time production staff works with clients and test engineers to offer immediate support during testing.  Typically we provide test fixtures, install test equipment, auxiliary water systems, and construct equipment modifications and repairs.  We design and fabricate:

• Steel shipboard structures, fixtures, and foundations
• Aluminum shipboard structures, fixtures, and foundations
• Braces, brackets, and stiffeners

HI-TEST welding services are in accordance with MIL-STD-248 & NAVSEA 0900.
